Reishi Energy Balls
There are many different energy balls recipes out there, but this one stands out from the crowd. Reishi extract powder is the star of the show in these tasty and nutritious snacks, which are packed with potent qi and Blood-nourishing ingredients, including:
Dates: Warm and sweet, dates are deeply nourishing for both qi and Blood.
Almonds: Neutral and sweet, almonds nourish qi and jing.
Cacao: Warm, bitter, and sweet, cacao supports Heart yang and Heart qi.
Reishi: Sweet and neutral, reishi nourishes the body, replenishes qi, and calms the mind.
Recipe (makes 10 balls)
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
100g pitted dates
100g ground almonds
2 tablespoons cacao powder
4 teaspoons reishi dual extract powder (see notes)
Pinch of salt (optional)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
Place the dates in a food processor and pulse until they form a sticky paste.
Mix the almonds, cacao, reishi powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl.
Add the date paste and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Divide the mixture into 10 evenly-sized portions and form them into balls using clean hands.
Store in the refrigerator and eat no more than 1-2 balls daily as a nourishing snack.
Notes
Reishi dual extract powder is made using a combination of hot water and alcohol extracts to ensure the full spectrum of beneficial compounds is included. There are many different reishi powders on the market, but it is always best to choose high-quality, organic products whenever possible. I used the organic reishi dual extract powder from Myconutri for this recipe.
